Assignment 1

  1. What is reggaeton? Where did it come from?

Reggaeton is reggae in Espanol, it’s a mixture of rap, dancehall, and salsa. It came Panama but raised in Caribbean countries like Puerto Rico.

2. What is Latin trap music?

Latin trap is music based off hip-hop/ rap and reggaeton created by black immigrants.

3, What does Malone argue needs to happen to Latin trap in order for it to be seen and honored as it should be?

For Latin trap to be seen and honored it needs to deal with its race problem.

4. What do you all think about music as a space to raise awareness?

I think that music is a good space to raise awareness. It will give people, especially the blacks and females, the opportunity to express themselves and get notice for their talent. Instead being pushed aside like they always do.
